I was going to wait until tomorrow to share this, but I just CAN'T wait! lol
I just finished putting vinyl on another old window sash and I am totally in love with it! I love love love putting vinyl on windows. It's actually maybe possibly kind of addicting! :) I haven't used my cricut in over a week so I was very excited to use it again!
On my last window sash that I did I put "All you need is LOVE" on it. You can see that here.
I found a quote on Pinterest that I absolutely love and I decided it would be perfect on a window! This was originally done on a piece of wood over at My Crafty Playground!
I designed it on my gypsy and then used my cricut expression with the 12"x24" mat and cut the words as big as I could. The words in white are done in the font off of the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge and the word thankful is done from the gypsy font cartridge and I welded it together on my gypsy.
I hope you like it! :)

Love the look of the window! So, do you want to hear something that actually struck me kind of funny? I found this through a link party from a blog that guest posted on making your own silhouettes on canvas (that's not the funny part ;) ), as I'm perusing the links, I found your window. The funny part, is that it looked really familiar- so I looked up your pins, and you actually pinned the sign that I made back in January with this quote. Somehow through all the pinning on Pinterest, the original source (my blog) was lost. If you want to check it out, you can look here : http://craftykat-mycraftyplayground.blogspot.com/2012/01/thankful-wall-art.html . I love this quote too- and found it on Pinterest, but tweaked it around and put it on a big sign like this. I love how you played around with it too, it looks great!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I'm SOOO glad you found me because I didn't know who to link back to! I knew somebody made it first and if I would've had a link to your blog then, I would've put it! lol I am for sure gonna put a link back to you in this post now though so that you get full credit! Thank you so much for the idea by the way! I really love it! :) Yours looks great too!!! :)

:D It was just really funny how I ended up seeing it at all... I tried finding the original source of the wood sign (it was either a 1x4 or 2x4 how they made it, and the same size font for all the letters) that I saw the picture of on Pinterest. It's amazing how difficult it can be to track down the original source of something- which is a bummer, because I too wanted to credit the original idea that I got it from. I just thought it would look cool on a big sign- I've never done something of that scale or style before. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and I love your idea of using a window. I have really been wanting to get ahold of some windows to play with, but I haven't had any luck finding any (without some cost involved... booh..) I'm looking forward to seeing what crafty creations you continue to come up with. :) Kathryn
DeleteThat's one bad thing about Pinterest! lol I love doing projects on old windows. Luckily, I have a thrift store in my area that sells all windows for just $1! I love it! I get at least 3-4 everytime I go lol Thank you so much though!
