Drawer turned into Dog Bed! It's a RUFF life and I'm lovin' it!

Hey y'all! Goodness, what a long time it's been since I posted something on here! I got a job and didn't have as much time for crafts, but now that I have a little more free time, I hope to starting posting more! I also have another blog with my sister that is about couponing so if any of y'all would like to learn how to coupon, check us out at Southern Coupon Junkies! I'm not sure how well I will do juggling between two blogs, but I'm willing to try! Hopefully with the help of my mom & sister, we can make it work :) I'm super excited about this dog bed that I'm going to share with y'all today. My mom and I made it out of a drawer that we got at our local Habitat for Humanity. It's super simple to make and your little furry friend is sure to love it :) I used my Cricut to cut the saying out, "It's a RUFF life...and I'm lovin' it!" I also hand painted the little doggy paw prints across the front. I think it turned out so cute, but I'll let y'all be the judge of that! Just be nice, please :)

What do y'all think!? :) You can leave me a comment on this blog post or over on our facebook page, The Raspberry Room! Also, this one is available to buy on our Facebook page, as well as some other items! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! :)

Pinterest Paint Party

Hey everybody!

It has taken me FOREVER to get this post up because blogger has been so aggravating! It wouldn't hardly let me upload pictures. I read that some other people were having this problem too. I finally got it though! :)

Last Thursday night, my mom and I attended a Pinterest Paint Party! Our local Habitat for Humanity - Restore put it together and it was SO much fun! If you have a Habitat near you then you probably know that they build houses for people, so all of the money they made from the party went toward helping with houses.

With all the money they raised, they were able to paint a WHOLE house!! So wonderful!!

We got to paint a cabinet door and I really love how they turned out.

We had a great teacher :) Her name is Lori and she has done a lot of paintings including some on the walls in a local mall!

Mine is on the left and my mom's is the one on the right.

We got to put a piece of cork on the bottom of ours, but you could also use chalkboard paint, magnetic paint or combine the two for a chalkboard that holds magnets. The possiblities are endless :)

We started with this ^^^

Then, we white washed it....

All you do is take regular latex paint that's white and mix it with a little bit of water and brush it on then use a paper towel to wipe it down.

It'll look similiar to this once you do that.

After that, we painted our background color. We did this in turqouise and we just mixed our paint in with the white and water mixure that we already had so that it would lighten it up.

*I didn't mix mine as good so my turquoise wasn't very light*

You then paint that on and wipe it down with a paper towel.

Next, we figured out where we wanted our images...

She had printed out, on regular printer paper, the images we would need and then she gave us some tracing paper (I don't remember exactly what it's called) and when we drew over the picture it showed up on our cabinet door. Does that make sense? lol

After that it was time to paint! :)

Then it was time to cut our cork piece to fit at the bottom

And then we were done! :)

My mom (left) and me :)

It was soo much fun and I really enjoyed the time I got to spend with my mom!

Hope you like it! :)

Craft Junkie Too Friend

P.S. - I got a new job! I'll be working at a daycare and I am sooo super excited! I love kids and I've always wanted to be a teacher (I'm going to school for it actually!). I have been praying and asking God to show me my path and I believe that this is his way of showing me! I feel like being around kids is what I'm suppose to do and I couldn't be happier about the path that God has chosen for me! I've applied for other jobs with no luck so I was so excited when she said that I had the job!  It couldn't have came at a better time either! I am truly blessed. I haven't started yet, I had to have my fingerprints done and get a physical and TB test. I also got a flu shot! lol I'm hoping she will let me work a few hours tomorrow because she told me she would just start me for a few hours a day til I get use to it. I'll have a room of six 18-24 month olds! It will be 5 days a week and with that and school, it won't leave much time for blogging except on weekends. I'm hoping I can make all three work :) lol I have a feeling I'm gonna be so tired, but it will be so worth it!

Refinished End Table

Hey everybody! I hope ya'll are having a wonderful week!

Sorry I've been away for a few days! I've been super busy with school and other things and also my mom, sister and myself just made our business facebook page so that we can post all of our items were selling on there and we can keep them off our personal pages. It's called The Raspberry Room if anybody happens to be near Cullman, Alabama (or you have friends that are) and wants to go check it out  :) We are selling one of a kind dog beds, refinished furniture, vinyl products & paintings. We can also do embroidery! I'm super excited about it!

I just finished an end table which, by the way, is for sale! so I thought I would share it with ya'll! :)

Here is the before picture...

I painted it Ivory then distressed it!

I love it so much that I wish I could keep it for myself! lol

I'm off to work on some more projects now! :)
Thanks for stopping by! :)

Thrift Store Finds

Is anybody else here addicted to thrift stores as much as myself!?! I love them! I could seriously go to at least one everyday for the rest of my life and I would be completely happy! You just never know what you will find. My imagination starts going crazy when I walk in one.

So, I wanted to share with ya'll a couple of thrift store redo's that I did a couple of weeks ago for my craft area!

The first one is my new desk chair!

Of course it had to be pink! :)
I had been looking for a desk chair and I was actually looking for one I could recover. Then, I came across this one and decided spray paint would probably be easier than working with fabric. Plus, I knew this one would hold up for a while and it was comfortable so I had to have it! :)

Next, I found this rolling cart. I had been looking for something to hold my craft baskets and apothecary jars and when I saw this I knew it would work perfect!

I sanded it down and then spray painted it black and I couldn't be happier with it!

I hope ya'll have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by!

Candlestick Redo

Hey ya'll! It was another beautiful day here in Cullman, Alabama!

I decided to take advantage of that and paint some candlesticks that I got from the thrift store.
The wind didn't agree with me so much and it left a nice overspray on my arms and face, but I managed to get it done :)

I had been eyeballing the smallest white candlestick the last two times I went in this thrift store. I knew I could paint it, but I just couldn't make myself get it. Then, I found the larger white one and I literally ran to get the other one before anybody else decided they wanted it. :)

So, I spray painted the 2 white ones with Valspar spray paint in turquoise and then I spray painted the black one with Valspar in pink!

I just love our brightly colored yard now! ;)

After they dried I sprayed some Valspar High Gloss on them to make them more glossy.

Here's what the cans look like.
They all came from Lowe's!

And here's my finished candle sticks!

I have three apothecary jars that I think will sit perfectly on top of them :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Have a great night!

Paris Themed Dog Bed

Hey everybody!

I hope everyone stayed safe from the storms last night! Our power went off for a few hours but, other than that, we just had lots of wind, rain and lightning. It sure made for a beautiful day today though :) 70 degree weather in January is awesome!

So, my mom finished the other dog bed today. This one is for her Yorkie, Lizzie Lou.

Such a pretty girl :)

She got this end table at a thrift store for $20 and turned it into a Paris themed dog bed and you won't even believe it's the same end table now.
 Take a look :)

amazing huh!?! I LOVE it! Such a transformation.

Here's the process...
(It's close to the same process as the other dog bed she made here.)

First, she took the top part off.

and then she took the wood off that held the top on.

She decided to use those pieces as rails to hold the cushion in so she screwed them onto the bottom platform.

(This is where the process is basically the same as the other bed)
Next, she painted it using Valspar 'Spritz of Lime'.

Then she went over it using Valspar 'Sugar & Cream' and again using Valspar 'Spritz of Lime'. She sanded it to give it the distressed look.

She bought some spindles from Lowe's to go on the posts to give it some more height and because we just felt it needed something.

She painted them using the same colors and she also added some stain so that when she distressed it, it would look like old brown wood coming through to match the rest of the bed.

The fabric came from Hobby Lobby and my mom liked the Paris theme of it so then we went to Lowe's for the paint and matched it to the fabric.

I used my cricut to cut her name and the Eiffel towers in some pink and black vinyl so it could be personalized.

Her name is from the gypsy font cartridge and I welded them together and then the Eiffel towers are from the destinations cartridge.

I'm pretty sure Lizzie approves of it :)

Well, I hope you enjoyed it and I hope this project inspires you :)
It really is a fun project and the hardest part is just
finding the perfect end table to use!

Thanks for stopping by! :)
